Legacy Series Chapter 2

Lifelong Held Ambition...

In 1869, Cochrane Cartwright made innovations that define Glengoyne to this day. 134 years later the next chapter in our story unfolded when Peter Russell and his family became the custodians of Glengoyne and fulfilled their dream of having their very own distillery.

Forward thinking respect for tradition...

Chapter Two in our Legacy Series marries spirits matured in two distinct cask types – first fill bourbon and refill sherry barrels. Every drop embodies Peter’s combination of forward-thinking and respect for tradition.

On the palate, Creamy and well-balanced, apple crumble, honey drizzled toast, green grape and gentle spice, this richness builds in the warming finish, syrupy with hints of sweet oak and dates.

Glengoyne’s historical spirit

Chapter One in our Legacy Series payed homage to Cochrane Cartwright and his vision for Glengoyne. Not only did the 1869 Distillery Manager dramatically slow down distillation, but he famously first introduced sherry casks to Glengoyne.

Now, with Legacy Chapter 2, we honour Peter Russel:the man who has shielded us from the changing winds of fashion, and helped us stick resolutely to 'The Glengoyne Way'.
