"Glengoyne isn't just a product of the place, of course.
It's also testimony to the skills and commitment of the people who have made
it their life's work."

Ronnie Palmer
Stillman
Ronnie is a local legend well known for distilling and horticulture. Glengoyne's
wonderful annual flower display is entirely down to Ronnie's green fingers. He's
been at Glengoyne for a quarter of a century and remembers the days when working
practises were even more relaxed.

Distillery Story:
" I remember the days when we used to fill the casks with the new spirit from the
stills and then have to roll them across the road to the warehouses where we would leave
them to mature. When people who lived in the area were on their way back home from work
they used to stop and help us roll the casks across the road to the warehouses. These
very helpful souls knew that if they helped roll the casks they would then be invited to
join us for the large end of shift dram!! It was the same with the delivery men and the
postmen, they used to time it perfectly to arrive at Glengoyne just as we were about to
have our morning dram and of course they would stay and have a whisky before getting on
with their deliveries- I suppose that's what you call, Community Spirit!"
