Launch of New Glengoyne 21 Years Old

Glengoyne has launched its brand new 21 Years Old, which is now guaranteed to be 100% matured in prestigious first fill European oak sherry casks, thus ensuring the optimum Glengoyne quality in every cask.
The casks (all butts) were hand picked by a specialist distillery team led by Distillery Manager, Robbie Hughes. Great care was taken during selection to ensure the perfect balance of flavours and natural rich colour that make up the recognisable character of Glengoyne, shone through.
The award-winning 21 Years Old has also benefited from a new presentation which is the final stage in the re-packaging of the
core Glengoyne range. Started back in November with the introduction of the re-designed 10 and 17 Years Old bottles and
tubes, the Glengoyne 21 years old has now also been redesigned to reflect the super premium status of the Malt within the
core range.

Glengoyne Launches Vintage 1972
The year 1972 was a significant year in our history - Polaroid launched the world's first instant camera, the pocket calculator was invented, Nike sold its first pair of running shoes and Glengoyne laid down some exquisite casks of their Highland Single Malt for maturation. These have now been bottled and are ready for sale!
Like these iconic brands, the Glengoyne Vintage 1972 is expected to thrill consumers with a strong emphasis on quality, design and style. The malt will be sold in a gold spirit safe with gold bottle label and black neck tag with a velvet pouch for the safe's lock and key. A tasting notes booklet will also come with this exclusive Malt.

Charity Walk

On Saturday 11th August the Glengoyne team walked from Milngavie to Glengoyne Distillery along the start of the West Highland Way in aid of Marie Curie. Despite the torrential rain everyone was in high spirits and they managed to complete the walk in less than 2 hours. At the finishing line at the distillery the team celebrated with a large dram of Glengoyne 17 year old single malt!
Over £1000 was raised for Marie Curie. Congratulations to all who took part.

Glengoyne Distillery is bringing the real experience of malt to it's overseas markets by flying one of the distillery's Stillmen, Bill McDowell, all over the world to regale whisky enthusiasts with stories of the distillery experience and production process.
Bill has been at Stillman at Glengoyne for the last three years following a visit to Glengoyne distillery in 2001. He says that it was during this visit that he "fell in love with the whisky, with the distillery and with the people" and decided on a career in the industry.
Bill was introduced to whisky at the tender age of one when his mother fed him the malt to numb the pain while he was teething. Little did she know that this would be the start of Bill's appetite for whisky, which would lead onto a passion that would find him giving up a successful job as news editor at the Herald to embark on a career in whisky production at Glengoyne.
Bill currently splits his time between the whisky-making side of his job and his visits. In the last few months Bill has travelled to Norway and Sweden where he has been explaining the traditional distillery methods used at Glengoyne, before flying back to the distillery and his job distilling and mashing the malt. It seems that for a "still"man Bill does not stay still for very long!
